Welcome to Two-Creeks where 10 acres of streams, level woodland and mountainside perches await as your basecamp for adventure. Two-Creeks feels like another world, a remote alpine wonderland. Streams that roar with snowmelt in spring mellow to a trickle as the summer progresses. Wildflowers bloom in meadows under snow-capped peaks, and autumn aspen trees turn yellow against a backdrop of evergreens. Lodgepoles, aspens white firs, and jefferey pines abound in this forester's paradise. Tucked into Coldstream Canyon, Two-Creeks could be the perfect hideaway for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. It's hard to believe you are only four miles away from the trappings of a premier full-service mountain town: Truckee California, and its surrounding ski areas. For the more rugged set, there is no need to drive to town; Cold Stream is home to the most celebrated back-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and ice climbing in the area. East Face, Anderson Peak and the Benson Hut are 'in the neighborhood. Resort skiers will love the location between Palisades Tahoe and Sugar Bowl ski area. The roads to Donner Lake are hikable/bikable in summer, although the best option might just be to stay put in your own private stream-fed haven. The neighborhood includes acreage parcels with a few small OFF-GRID cabins, homes, and fishing shacks as well as the famed Lost Trail Lodge, which is an extensive mountain-style compound with a storied history of hosting outdoor revelers. The few people who live in the area tend to be ruggedly capable; most are part-time residents. The area is accessible via car and mountain bike in summer and snowmobile, snowcat, quad, skis or snowshoes in the snowy months. The drive to town often takes 15 minutes, but sometimes conditions make access challenging or worse. Have you been longing to unplug? For those who welcome adventure and enjoy wandering off the beaten path, Two-Creeks offers a one-of-a-kind portal into true back-country living. ****Rare Opportunity: this is the 1st time in 50 years this land has been on the market.**** *Access via 4 mile dirt road: NOT PLOWED *Winter access can be very challenging *Residents use snowmobiles, snowcats and quads in winter *In Summer, residents have a combo-locked gate *Summer guest access is thru Donner Memorial State Park *Most vehicles should park at Horseshoe Bend: walk the last bit *High clearance 4wd may continue through mousehole under railroad tracks *Sometimes the mousehole has a Cold Creek rushing throu
