Immersed in the lands of the famous Prosecco wine, in Conegliano, the birthplace of the painter Giambattista Cima, a treasure trove of architectural and artistic beauties, Villa Paccagnella dates back to the second half of the seventeenth century, built according to a project by the architect Baldassare Longhena. Thanks to its panoramic position the villa dominates the whole city and the Venetian plain to the south, towards which it overlooks the façade, the hills and the prealpine arch to the north.
The noble structure is inserted in a large park with a neoclassical swimming pool. The building consists of a single tripartite stable: a central body more developed in depth and in height and two symmetrical side bodies. A large staircase leads to the portico of the façade, open by a colonnade, which leads to the entrance portal, in a stone cornice ending in a broken tympanum.
The interiors, of great elegance and sobriety, still contain the original furnishings. On the ground floor, today used as a dining room and kitchen, is the noble floor, composed of a central double-height hall, on which the four side rooms open, to which are added two smaller rooms in the two side towers. A beautiful spiral staircase in stone, harmonious proportions, located on the right side of the building leads to the second floor, where there are the bedrooms and living rooms, which reflect the layout of the rooms located on the main floor. Conegliano is easily reachable from the Venice airport in 40 minutes.
