Villa Gina is an exquisite historic villa built in 1766 by an aristocratic Austrian family and named after its owner Gina. In the 20th century it belonged to the family of the famous Italian artist Baldassare Longoni whose paintings are still present in the villa, and the main street of the town is named after him.In 2011 Villa Gina was completely renovated by the current owners. Precious details include stucco work, handmade floor tiles, frescoed walls, hand-made wallpaper, silk fabrics and marble. The villa is stocked with authentic objects of art: paintings by Italian artists, silk tapestries, antique furniture, and Murano glass chandeliers. The villa is set on 3 floors plus garden floor and large windows offer a unique view of the lake and mountains. The ground floor consists of an impressive entrance hall, an elegant living room with fireplace and access to a magnificent 30 sqm terrace overlooking Lake Como, a second living room with access to a spacious terrace, a kitchen with breakfast area and antique fireplace, and a bathroom with shower. On the second and third floors there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dressing room, a winter garden with huge windows and a spacious terrace offering spectacular views. The garden floor consists of laundry, storage and utility rooms as well as a greenhouse.Villa Gina is surrounded by a lush and charming garden of approx. 2,000 sqm with rare century-old trees, lots of flowering plants, two antique fountains and sculptures from the 18th century. The property is located in Dizzasco in the famous Intelvi valley connecting Lake Como and Lake Lugano, only a few km from the well-known lakeside town of Argegno on Lake Como. The villa enjoys a lot of privacy and has the advantage of being within walking distance of a bar, a typical local restaurant and other amenities. The area is ideal for hikers and mountain bikers, and the Lanzo Golf Club and the small ski area of Monte Sighignola are only 10 and 17 km away respectively.
