One could speak of a Lichtenrad veteran, because this property looks back on over a hundred years of history. Built as a country house, it was the first building on this street or one of the first houses in Lichtenrade. In the 1920s, the Mayor of Lichtenrad Reinhold Quaatz lived here with his wife. Over the years, the house has developed structurally and through an extension in 1934 it grew into a spacious two-family house.Warm natural wood elements ensure cosiness and well-being. From the ground floor with the solid oak entrance door to the attic with the elaborate bat dormers, every detail was taken care of. The lattice windows set accents, give the building a very special charm and go perfectly with the style of this historic residential building. The exterior lighting on the veranda also points to the past, as the original swing lights were preserved.Siberian lark guides the way through the ground floor, in unison the light breaks through custom-made oak windows. Pine doors complete the rooms. On the upper floor, the pine floorboards form a basis and become a unit with other softwood types such as oak.Separate staircases and entrances provide a variety of uses. This results in different living levels, which can be used separately on the one hand and yet are carefully connected. In the center of the house is the extremely large family kitchen in a practical arrangement and equipped with the most modern equipment. Underfloor heating and partly exposed masonry convey a rustic atmosphere. A dining table with space for up to 10 people invites you to eat together with family or friends.Provided with its own access, the basement presents itself as a small wellness oasis with a relaxation room or as a guest area. Here, too, the elements interact. Self-cut wood such as pine and oak was processed here, thus continuing the style of the ground floor. The shower room is designed with a Swedish Öland stone, which can also be found in the Douglas fir wood sauna. This area is particularly notable for its high level of comfort. When converting the roof, great importance was attached to quality, while maintaining the style of the time. For example, the anchors of the Rehme are not just a visual adornment, but continue to be an integral part of the roof extension. The roof is literally crowned by a crown covering with beaver tail, which exudes an exceptional exclusivity. Insulated and expanded, a magnificent attic room with a refined walk-in closet unfolds. Custom-made bat dormer windows made of oak and open wooden beams exude an indescribable attention to detail. Separated from this, a studio forms space for extensive creativity. You can relax in the evening sun on the grill terrace, which is surrounded by a stone wall. A 400 year old window worked into the stone wall presents an irretrievable charm. At the center of the terrace is - unique and unusual - a solid wooden table made from a naturally felled oak. A large parasol completes the special individuality of this terrace. It is almost impossible to put the character and uniqueness of this extraordinary property into words, the special expression is only noticeable during an inspection. We would therefore like to invite you to experience a virtual tour of this property in advance or to make an appointment to view it.
