The celebrated beauty of Centro San Miguel is in its well preserved and elegant 18th century Spanish Colonial homes. Casa Camille shares in this prestigious lineage – the original home on the property may be over 200 years old.
This historic front of the house has a wide carved wooden door that opens into a tall 18th century, elegantly tiled foyer which leads to two original rooms, used as a bedroom and an office. This area also includes a traditionally tiled full bath. The historic front rooms connect easily to the main body of the house.
A large, lacey metalwork gate leads from the foyer into an outdoor walkway and a few steps up to a beautifully landscaped central courtyard. Off this central courtyard are the living and dining rooms, kitchen, primary bedroom suite and an imposingly large, pillared loggia. To the right of the courtyard is a staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace.
The living and dining rooms are filled with light via tall glass French doors opening onto the terrace and, high skylit ceilings. Both rooms have distinctively impressive fireplaces. The spacious primary bedroom suite is also light-filled, with glass French doors leading to the terrace and high arched clerestory windows. This bedroom has a handsome carved fireplace, adjacent private office, very large ensuite bath with double basins and a truly expansive dressing room fit for a fashionista.
The loggia is the aesthetic heart and soul of this elegant house, with a Spanish Colonial arched colonnade and massive carved outdoor fireplace. It looks out over the courtyard on one side and over the swimming pool on a lower level. Down a small staircase is the lower level with swimming pool and two luxurious guestrooms with charming tiled fireplaces and ensuite baths. Each guestroom has an interior entrance and wide French doors opening directly onto the pool terrace. There is an outdoor back staircase from the pool level to the roof top terrace which has a seating area with views of the treetops.
Casa Camille is a truly beautiful, thoughtfully designed property - ideal for entertaining. Its interior spaces flow effortlessly into its various outdoor landscapes – offering opportunities to entertain on an intimate or grand scale.
