Lubbock, Texas, is the agricultural, economic, health care, and education hub of the Great Plains. Also known as "Hub City", Lubbock is the home of a large university. In July the average temperature is 92.8 degrees Fahrenheit, where as in January the average temperature is 54.1 degrees Fahrenheit. With a population of about 230,000 people, Lubbock is also the largest contiguous cotton-growing region in the world.

Flying into Lubbock can be done into the petite airport, Lubbock Preston Smith International. There will likely be a connecting flight in Houston, Dallas or Denver. If you are a sports fan, locals tend to cheer for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, as well as many other teams. The quaint city has numerous parks, museums, and other historic locations that locals frequently go to.
