Lake Stevens, Washington

Lake Stevens is an exciting and growing community located in the North East portion of Snohomish County. First settled in 1886, Lake Stevens was a resort community during the early and mid 1900s and did not incorporate into a city until 1960. The lake itself, covering approximately 1000 acres remains the central point of this thriving community.

Lake Stevens has much to offer its residents. The Centennial Trail, running through east Lake Stevens from Snohomish to Arlington provides a place where bikers, walkers, and joggers can enjoy the outdoors safely off of the main roads. Several parks provide recreation for those of all ages and a variety of interests. Both North Cove Park, located in downtown Lake Stevens and Wyatt Park located on the opposite shore of the lake provide a boat launch and swimming area. Lundeen Park, on the north shore has picnic sites and a protected swimming area. Other parks include Catherine Creek Park featuring an 18 hole disk golf course, and the Centennial Woods, a 6.5 acre nature park.

The Lake Stevens School District consists of six elementary schools, two middle schools, a mid-high and high school.

The community is home to several activities during the spring and summer months. The local Lion's Club hosts an annual Kokanee fishing derby. Aquafest is the annual summer festival enjoyed by all ages and includes events such as boat races, carnival rides, parades, movies in the park, a pet show, water ski/wakeboard tournament, and fireworks! Other summer events include music in the park and a farmer's market.

During the winter Lake Stevens is dressed up for the holidays with lights, music, and Santa Claus visiting both the downtown area as well as surrounding neighborhoods.
