The Village of Indian Hill is technically a city due to its population count, but the lifestyle is that of a quiet, country-atmosphere residential community. It has a rich history as a summer retreat for many wealthy settlers in the Cincinnati and some of the larger estates date back to the early 1900s. The community is now a mixture of larger 20+ acre estates surrounded by green belts of land for a sense of privacy as well as rolling lanes of residential streets. One hundred percent of Indian Hill is zoned as single-family residential or agricultural. Indian Hill has its own school district, police department (called Rangers), and water works. Property known as the Village Green serves as a playground with four tennis courts, a basketball court and shelter house. A fishing lake behind the tennis courts is stocked periodically and, in winter, is used for ice skating. Three baseball diamonds support 300 children in knothole baseball. There is a beautiful membership swimming club. Many walking paths, nature trails, 150 miles of bridle trails, playgrounds and picnic areas are available for residents to enjoy. Indian Hill is located 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. All major highways are easily accessed from I-71 or Ronald Reagon Highway. It is a 5-minutes drive to Jewish Hospital Kenwood and 10 minutes to Bethesda North Hospital located in Montgomery. Nearby Madeira and Mariemont offer many shopping and dining opportunities. Kenwood Towne Centre mall is 5 minutes away and has premier shopping with many national retail brand stores including Nordstrom’s and Macy’s. A private country club is located in the village. There are seven garden clubs in the Village of Indian Hill who work to keep the neighborhood beautiful. Rowe Arboretum is located in Indian Hill and offers 9 acres of many varieties of trees, plants and shrubs. A shooting club is available to residents to join. Greeacres in Indian Hill is an educational farm foundation created to encourage opportunities to study plant and animal life as well as the arts. Children and adults can take horse-back riding lessons at this farm.
