Welcome to Exeter, NH

The character of Exeter, New Hampshire, like so many New England towns, has been shaped by its natural surroundings. The town, strategically located on the tidal Swampscott River and the freshwater Exeter River has been the home to industries of yesteryear like ship building, agriculture and commercial trading. No longer commercially utilized the rivers are home to crew teams, boaters and fisherman of all kinds, as well as thousands of migratory birds.

Exeter was one of the four towns in the original Colony, and served as a military headquarters before and during the Revolutionary War. Exeter is also home to Phillips Exeter Academy.
