Montgomery County, with a population of 942,000, has the 16th largest public school system in the United States. The system consists of 200 schools: 130 elementary, 38 middle, 25 high and 7 special or alternative. Approximately one of every seven County residents is a public school student. 90% of our students graduate.

MCPS serves all learners. It offers a comprehensive early childhood program and thoroughly covers the basics of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and the arts, for kindergarten through grade 12. The Montgomery County Student Foundations Office, composed of three separate non-profit educational foundations, support students in the Automotive, Construction and Information Technologies industries.
