Learn more about homes in Harwich, MA

Welcome to Harwich, MA

The town of Harwich seems to have escaped much of the harried pace of its more populated Cape Cod neighbors. Located in the Mid-Cape region, which is the center of the region geographically, politically and commercially, the community seems to reflect a more peaceful old New England feel.

Situated on the southern shore of Cape Cod, the town’s beaches are warmer and perfect for swimming and a full range of water sports. Golf courses, fine restaurants and small cafes, live theater, picturesque harbors and seven separate villages are located within the community with the most populated – Harwich Port – hosting most of the summer tourists and year-round residents.

Harwich Port offers a scenic marina providing berths for nearly 200 boats and temporary slips for visitors. Seal-watching excursions leave from the marina to Monomoy Island and you can take a day trip from there to Nantucket.

Harwich is part of the Monomoy Regional School District with an elementary, middle and high school located in the town. It is also home to the Fontaine Medical Center, which provides comprehensive medical care to the lower Cape communities.

Originally a part of Yarmouth, Harwich is very much its own hometown today offering a wide range of amenities for those who visit in the summer months or choose to stay year-round.
