The city of Greendale is called the gateway to Southeast Indiana with a population of 4,296. It was platted in 1852 by a group of industrialists, headed by Stephen Ludlow, looking for location for their businesses. I-275 links Greendale with Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and the airport to the south, and the western suburbs of Cincinnati are to the north. Historic houses blend with affordable, newer homes in Greendale, situated atop a ridge near the Ohio River. Residents are proud of their neighborhood and do their part in keeping Greendale an attractive and well-kept community. It is approximately 5.81 square miles.
