About Washington Park: Denver, CO

Washington Park, or Wash Park as known by locals, is the most widely used and best- known park in the Denver metro area.

Named on August 7, 1899 in observation of the centennial of the death of President George Washington, Wash Park sits on 160.8 acres.

The paved road inside the park is divided and marked for pedestrian traffic and bicycle/rollerblade traffic. The dirt path circumventing the park is perfect for joggers and walkers. The Wash Park neighborhood is defined geographically as the areas west of University Blvd, east of Lincoln St., south of Speer Blvd and north of Interstate 25 in the SE area of Denver.
