Waco, Texas and the surrounding area offers accessible big city features. Waco is the 20th largest city in Texas and is conveniently located 100 miles away from Austin, Fort Worth, and Dallas. Houston and San Antonio are only 180 miles away. We have excellent medical care, plentiful housing and a great range of entertainment. Because of the city’s temperate climate, Waco offers plenty of outdoor entertainment that can be appreciated all year round. Grab a pole and go fishing in the 3rd largest river in Texas, the Brazes River. Or, you can take a walk in the 416 acre Cameron Park where you will find the acclaimed Cameron Zoo.
If it is sports you want, you can play tennis at the Waco Regional Tennis facility with indoor and outdoor courts, or play golf on the many courses in and around the area including one of the largest in Texas, “Twin Rivers.” Eat at one of the 200+ restaurants, relax, wine and dine by Lake Waco. If you’re a fan of theatre then the Hippodrome is for you, or for national touring acts, the 8000 seat coliseum plays host.
