Graysville offers a 3 course golf experience through Mountain View Golf Course with their red, white, and blue courses. Brookside, once a mining town populated mostly by residents of Czechoslovakian and other Eastern European descent, continues to celebrate the heritage of its citizens with an annual Russian Food Festival. As a whole, Jefferson County was established in 1819 and named in honor of the prestigious Thomas Jefferson. It covers 1,119 square miles and operates as its own entity in more ways than most counties do. Jefferson County holds two courthouses and maintains a limited form of home rule government.
