Twenty-two miles of beauty. The Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores is highly regarded as a serene location for those who prefer quiet, nature-filled surroundings. The Gulf of Mexico to the south and Mobile Bay to the north and west offer plenty of sea experiences, but this peninsula also hosts the 7000-acre Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge; air, sea and land creatures peacefully share their protected habitat with those who wander the paths.
At the west end is historic Fort Morgan itself, a sister to Fort Gaines located on Dauphin Island. Together, they guarded the mouth of Mobile Bay through multiple wars, most notably the Civil War; travel by ferry between the two sites for a great historical perspective. Near the middle of this sliver of land, you’ll find some pretty spectacular golf with amazing views.
The homes here range from tiny fishing cabins nestled among the trees to pleasant golf-course condos to multi-million-dollar beach mansions. The variety of housing options and settings is endless. Although the quiet surroundings create a blissful separation from the rest of the world, you are just minutes from shopping, dining, business services and activities.
