Global Real Estate Network Names New Advisory Council Members

CHICAGO – 4/15/14 – Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® has named its new Advisory Council, adding five members and appointing a new chairperson and vice chairperson. The Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE) Advisory Council is comprised of top business development and relocation professionals from firms affiliated with the network and works closely with the LeadingRE management team on critical network initiatives. Council members also mentor other network affiliates and serve as ambassadors for the organization’s extensive programs. They are elected by existing members based on industry experience, reputation and willingness to share ideas in support of the network.  


The council’s new chairperson is Diane Howard, CRP, CRS, GRI, who was elected to serve a one-year term after recently completing a term as vice chairperson. An industry veteran with more than 23 years of experience, Howard is vice president of client services for Real Estate One, Inc. (Southfield, MI) and will provide strategic guidance to the council. Denise Talboy, CRP, vice president of Global Relocation & Corporate Services for The Keyes Company (Miami, FL), was elected as vice chairperson.

Global Real Estate Conference Attracts 2,500 Attendees, Recognizes Industry Leaders

CHICAGO – (March 3, 2014) – Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® Conference Week, held February 23-27 at Wynn Las Vegas, attracted nearly 2,500 attendees from 20 countries, a record attendance for the event. Hosted by Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® (LeadingRE) for its affiliates, the event offered targeted conference content for brokers, relocation professionals, sales associates, luxury specialists, sales managers and marketing and technology professionals.

The robust conference week program featured 140 member panelists and over 40 guest speakers including luxury brand representatives and keynote performances at multiple general sessions from Guy Kawasaki, former Apple Chief Evangelist; top-rated business author Daniel Pink; internationally recognized graffiti artist, film maker and author Erik Wahl; and Navy SEAL Rorke Denver, who starred in the 2012 hit film “Act of Valor.”     

Entertainment events were held at four different nightclubs including Tao, with entertainment from Las Vegas Headliner of the Year Frankie Moreno, Dancing with the Stars’ Lacey Schwimmer, top Vegas act Mosaic, and Dick Bright’s SRO orchestra. 

And topping off the week was the presentation of the network’s annual Performance Awards. The most prestigious honor, the Diamond Award, was presented to Watson Realty Corp. (Jacksonville, FL) for the second consecutive year, recognizing outstanding performance in all of LeadingRE's business programs.

Rebounding Economy Triggers Growth in Luxury Real Estate Market

CHICAGO – (8/14/13) – The luxury market has seen a marked increase in activity the first half of the year, in large part due to the healthy return of the North American luxury real estate market, as well as the return of second home purchase activity.  Growth has been notable not only in the number of high-end listings being marketed by member firms, but also in the number of companies joining the organization.

The increased activity is reflected on Luxury Portfolio International’s award-winning website, www.LuxuryPortfolio.com, which currently markets 18,500 properties, 20% more listings than this time last year.  Traffic to the site is also up, attracting 250,000 visits a month from more than 200 countries/territories around the world, a year-over-year increase of 28%.  Leads to member brokers are also up almost 40% over this time last year.

Luxury Portfolio International®, a global network of real estate firms, sees this growth being reflective of the activity most affiliates are experiencing in their local markets.

For example, in southern California, Willis Allen Real Estate CEO/Owner Andrew E. Nelson reports, “We are seeing a breadth of enthusiasm in our luxury market. In our high-end San Diego communities, activity is quite strong from two to four million dollars, as buyers see the possibility that the ‘bottom’ has already passed.”

In Dallas, the luxury market is thriving. “Year-to-date luxury home sales in the Dallas-Fort Worth market are up 23.2% over the same period last year,” says Mary Frances Burleson, president and CEO of the Ebby Halliday Companies, which includes Ebby Halliday, REALTORS® and Dave Perry-Miller & Associates. "It is not at all unusual for a well-priced home to draw multiple offers immediately after going onto the market.” 

Canadian member CIR Realty also notes significant growth.  "The luxury real estate market has been booming in Calgary. The first half of this year has seen 388 MLS sales of homes over $1 million, a 10% percent increase from the same period in 2012. The record for home sales over $1 million in Calgary was in July 2007 at 61 MLS transactions. We have a ways to go to get to peak periods, but if the trend continues at the same pace it has in the past year, we will get there," said Kirsten Faverin, marketing manager for CIR.

As market activity improves, interest in aligning with Luxury Portfolio has surged, with member recruitment on track to potentially double 2012 enrollment.

“We have seen an incredible increase in the number of firms seeking affiliation with Luxury Portfolio,” notes Stephanie Pfeffer, executive vice president. “While only a small number of these potential members meet our high standards, including significant luxury market share, experience in the high end and reputation, it has enabled us to expand significantly this year, as companies seek the most effective marketing strategies for affluent consumers.”

CHICAGO (5/15/13) – Chicago-based Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® announced its 2012 sales statistics today, once again demonstrating dominance in the real estate market.

Collectively, network affiliates produced $272 billion in sales in 2012 with over one million transaction sides, which is $65-70 billion more in dollar volume and approximately 20% more sides than its closest network competitors.   

Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® showed leadership in local markets as well, with network affiliates holding the number one ranking in 39% of the top 108 markets in either sales volume or transaction sides or both.

Among the top 500 companies in the country, affiliates out-performed all other networks by over 34% in 2012, according to REAL Trends 500, which ranks the largest companies by transaction sides and sales volume.
